I plan to post more about this project soon.<\/p>\n<p>But Chris Shen has accomplished a much more impressive feat of IR remote hacking &#8212; he&#8217;s hooked up 625 discarded remote controls to create a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QJwmYt3J9jI&#038;feature=player_embedded\" target=\"_blank\">working television display<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"500\" height=\"281\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/v\/QJwmYt3J9jI?hl=en_US&amp;version=3&amp;rel=0\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/v\/QJwmYt3J9jI?hl=en_US&amp;version=3&amp;rel=0\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Of course the light from the remotes is infrared, so it can&#8217;t be seen with the naked eye.  And it looks like it would probably take a display at least twice as big to get a really coherent picture.  Still, an ingenious achievement.
